He was spade at 5 months so he is not suitable for stud. He is very affectionate, well natured and loyal. He is good with children and not too clumsy for a big dog. He is obedient at home but quite boisterously playful outdoors. He walks well on the lead; he is also fine off the lead, although, when distracted, his recall has much to be desired. As most people do not let Malamutes lose, for the breed, he is well behaved. He is also trained to bikejor (pull a cycle), he pulls well when teamed with my husky but he is lazy on his own. Mala is fairly typical of his breed. He gets on well with other dogs but, although he currently has a live in girlfriend, malamutes are usually better kept as an only pet. If you want an obedience champion then a Malamute is probably not for you so please research the bleed. If you think a malamute is for you I dont think you will find a better example.
